Brightspot Incentives & Events (gobrightspot.com)

Director, Biz Dev

Responsibilities: At Brightspot we like to say we’re one-third unemployed in this business of events, incentives and engagement campaigns having to sell most deals year in and year out, and sometimes quarter-to-quarter! Because of that, I’m always focused on moving opportunities into and through our pipeline with the help and support of the best team on the planet: solutions design, sourcing, sales support, ops, marketing, et al. Add in a mix of industry clients and partners around the globe, and we’re able to bring the best of creativity, service, and execution to every project—big or small!

Something interesting about you: I have been advising Collin College’s Hospitality Management Board under Dean Karen Musa for past 7 years. Proud of the teams work to increase hospitality offerings in the community through the college, and migrating coursework to online while establishing partnerships with Texas State schools for 1:1 credit. Personally, my day usually starts with a run, or bike ride—or both! I am a certified Triathlon Coach and have competed in triathlon past 16 years. I am an Ironman!

Why Site Texas: When I broke into the industry 11 years ago I sought out the top networking and education group to support my passion for incentive travel. I found SITE and became a member overnight. First, I owe a great deal to my number one industry fan, Mike May who encouraged me to become a member and serve in Site. I also owe a lot of my success to the many SITE Global and SITE Texas leaders—Wayne Wallgren, Jonathan Richards, Pat McCain, Greg Slaight, Mary McGregor, Jean Schultz, Kevin Hinton, Tina Weede, Stan Hershenow and many, many others. I am beyond grateful for their investment in me, and I continue to try to pay it forward to others in our great industry. If I could help you in any way—personally or professionally, please call on me!

What is coming up for you with Site Texas: I love catching up with old friends and making new at each SITE Texas event when I am in town. Since serving 4 years on SITE Texas Board (VP Marketing & Comms 2010-12; Prez in 2013) I spent the next 4 years as an Executive Committee member for the SITE Foundation Research & Education Committee, and the past two years as Co-Chair for the extraordinary annual SITE Classic event which raised over $500,000 the past two years to support education and research initiatives in our great incentive travel industry!
