Dear SITE Texas members,
We are back! The event industry is in full swing and we’re seeing incredible compression from the past two years operating in 2022. Although this compression has been a welcome change, the industry is experiencing challenging realizations with staffing shortages, lack of experience, job fatigue, service satisfaction, and of course supply challenges which is forecasted to continue through 2023.
This year we are continuing our award-winning tradition as the recipient of two SITE Global awards including Best in Virtual Engagement and Best Special Event (How to Hybrid – 2021). As we moved into 2022, the Board of Directors continued our member engagement focus with developing a customized portfolio of in person events including the Annual General Meeting, Statewide Round-Ups powered by our chapter’s Young Leaders in Austin, San Antonio, Dallas and Houston, the recent 9th Annual Technology Summit in the Dominican Republic, September Roadshows, and the annual Holiday Party in December. Our events are intentionally designed to ensure our member segments are receiving valuable connections and education to elevate their professional development. For upcoming SITE Texas events, check out the SITE Texas Events Calendar.
As our community continues to grow, we are proud that 40% of our membership volunteers in some capacity on various committees including events, social media, sponsorship and membership. In addition, the Board has expanded focus groups including a Past Presidents Council, a Planner Advisory Council, and the Young Leaders committee to ensure we are gathering real-time trends, generational influences, and environmental disruptors. This helps guide our educational committee in developing relevant content for upcoming programming. If you would like to join a committee, please email our VP of Membership, Alexa Kinney, CITP at akinney@caesars.com.
As our community navigates through this unprecedented environment, it is important today more than ever to stay engaged with SITE Texas either by volunteering or participating in our events. Our chapter has a strong legacy of tenured members willing to share ideas and best practices based on historical and recent negotiations, and experiences. Our Board of Directors is also here to support you personally. The past two years have been challenging on our mental state, and we all are managing our emotions differently. Please feel free to reach out to any Board Member if you would like to talk or just check in.
Thank you again for your ongoing commitment to our chapter and I look forward to seeing you at an upcoming event!
Sincerely,
Todd Zint, CMP, CMM, CITP
President, SITE Texas
